New thing #4: Making Money
I took some time off last quarter from work to catch up on academics and figure out what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. Not working was nice, but after having working for 4 years, it was also strange. Despite having worked all those years, I go through my money like Hugh Hefner goes through playmates, so I had no money saved. I didn’t have my usual disposable income for shoe shopping and I didn’t know what to do with all my free time. The good thing is, I found out I would hate being a stay at home wife, (I know, I’m surprised too, Gaby makes it look so easy on Desperate Housewives); I like working and making my own money.
Today, I started my job with the Stanford University School of Education as an administrative assistant/associate event planner. Got up bright and early to get to work at 7:30 a.m., and it set my day off right. I have a good feeling about the job, but, most importantly, today I made my first money in 2011!
